St Kierans’ reward for their 1-7 to 0-8 victory is a semi-final with champions Dromcollogher-Broadford.

Although Timmy Carroll and Treacy gave the Coolcappa side a physical presence in the middle, Ballysteen looked the more dangerous side on the break. However, for all of their speed on the counter off the turnovers of Pa Ranahan and Pakie Moran, they ground to a halt once they came into the scoring zone, with Paudie and Johnny McCarthy impressing in the winning defence. Apart from two early strikes, the Deelsiders relied solely on the free-kicking of John Collins as they sent nine chances wide while their opponents chalked up just two.
