Tough task for McGuinness as key staff exit Donegal set-up

Jim McGuinness will assemble a largely new backroom team with Donegal’s senior footballers following the news Rory Gallagher and two other members have departed the set-up.

Maxi Curran, the video analyst, kit man Francie Friel and assistant manager Gallagher have gone with immediate effect. The reasons have not yet emerged but it’s understood the Donegal County Board were last night preparing a statement.

It was not yet clear if McGuinness removed the trio from their roles, or if they made their respective decisions themselves for personal reasons.
