Cormac McGinley rescued Tyrone champions Errigal Ciaran with a 59th minute equaliser in last night’s Hunky Dorys SFC first round tie at Carrickmore, tying it up at 0-7 each.

Peter Harte knocked over a couple of early points and Errigal led 0-4 to 0-3 at the interval.

Back came wind-assisted Dromore for McCullagh to bring them level, before Eoin McCusker gave them the lead for the first time with a 45th minute free.

But McGinley fired over a long range effort to keep the champions alive.

Goals from Colm Doris, who netted two second half penalties, and Connor McAliskey, helped Clonoe to a 3-9 to 1-8 win over Omagh at Dunmoyle.

A Colm Cavanagh-inspired Moy turned a five points deficit into an eight points win as they dismissed Killyclogher by 3-9 to 2-4.

Carrickmore finished strongly with 14 men to defeat All-Ireland IFC champions Cookstown by 0-11 to 0-6.

Meanwhile Tyrone’s free-kicking goalkeeper Niall Morgan returned to action at the weekend, less than three months after suffering a serious knee ligament injury. He made his surprise comeback as a second half sub in a club championship game, but could not save Edendork from going down to a 1-16 to 0-12 IFC defeat to Eskra.
