Killenaule dominated the early stages but an Evan Sweeney goal in the 26th minute brought Loughmore level. Killenaule were then rocked when they lost former county man Declan Fanning to a second yellow card in the 28th minute.
The sides were level, 1-6 to 0-9 at the interval, but a Cian Hennessy goal in the 34th minute gave Loughmore the initiative. Killenaule fought back with underage star John ‘Bubbles’ O’Dwyer hitting four points. Pat Kerwick’s 47th-minute goal edged them 1-13 to 2-9 ahead, but then came the Loughmore fightback.
They shot seven unanswered points in nine minutes to secure progress.
