Camross to meet Borris-Kilcotton
Camross met their long-time rivals Portlaoise for the second time this year. When the teams met earlier Camross cruised to a 4-15 to 0-12 win, but this time they had just three points to spare, 1-14 to 1-11.
Dwane Palmer’s goal gave Camross the early advantage, but they were quickly pegged back by a resilient Portlaoise side. Camross eventually pulled five ahead in the second half, but that was the cue for Portlaoise’s veteran forward Tommy Fitzgerald to thump home a goal, and it set up a grand stand finish. Portlaoise put everything they had into getting the goal they needed , but Camross held on for a place in the final.
In the other semi-final, Borris-Kilcotton qualified for their first ever final since their amalgamation three years ago with a surprise win over Clough-Ballacolla.
