Stars condole with ref Kelly

GAA players, officials and supporters from across the country joined mourners in Mullingar, Westmeath, at the weekend to sympathise with well-known hurling referee Barry Kelly on the passing of his wife Catherine, who died last Thursday.

Catherine, a teacher in Mullingar, aged just 41, died following a short illness. Amongst those in Mullingar to sympathise with Barry Kelly, who has refereed three All-Ireland hurling finals, were Kilkenny hurler Henry Shefflin, manager Brian Cody and former Cork star Donal Óg Cusack.

Catherine and Barry have young twins Manus and Theo. Catherine, who was greatly involved in the Mullingar Choral Society was laid to rest at Walshestown Cemetery yesterday. May she rest in peace.
