Dromard make semi-final
The North Longford side went in a point up at the break but turned on the style in the second half.
Cian Mimnagh was superb for them, scoring 2-05 in total. Those two goals came five minutes after the break and set his side on their way.
Dromard will play the winners of Abbeylara and St. Columba’s Mullinlaghta after the neighbouring sides played out a 1-08 to 0-11 draw; Robbie Smyth with a late equaliser to earn a dramatic draw for Abbey.
In the relegation play-off, St. Mary’s Granard have it all to do if they are to avoid a swift return to the Intermediate Championship after they lost to Fr. Manning Gaels 2-12 to 2-8.
Last year, Granard claimed the Intermediate title after suffering the disappointment of relegation the previous year.
The win was bittersweet though for the Gaels because due to scoring differences they can’t stay up.
