Antrim skipper: McGuinness absence avoidable

Antrim senior captain Neil McManus has expressed anger after the county’s U21s were deprived of the services of Chris McGuinness for Saturday’s historic Bord Gáis Energy All-Ireland semi-final victory over Wexford.

McManus is a member of the Antrim management team, alongside Kevin Ryan and Barry McFall, now preparing for a final against Clare on September 14.

But McManus is unhappy about the scheduling of senior club football championship matches last Saturday, in direct opposition to the U21 hurlers.
