Bugler praises young guns for lifting Banner

Though only 28, in a team of precocious U21 talent, Clare wing-back Brendan Bugler stands out from the vast majority of his colleagues.

It’s not just age that separates him from the pack. Bugler is also the only All Star on the team that faces Limerick in Sunday’s All-Ireland SHC semi-final.

“It was nice, it gave me that little bit of confidence,” he said of his 2009 award. “But when I got it I said that as nice and all as it was, to win a Munster medal is what I wanted to achieve. We haven’t done that yet. Individual awards at the end of a year are nice but it’s all about winning with your teammates.”
