Dublin GAA officials are banking on their hurlers’ successful championship run to help them get a new shirt sponsor next year.

Vodafone’s deal with the county, worth €1 million per annum, finishes at the end of the year and the county board had been hoping to secure a new sponsor by now. However, the search has proven more difficult than expected and they changed their approach to prospective companies.

“I wouldn’t say the market is gone that bad but nobody is going to bite your hand off for the kind of sponsorship we’re looking for,” said county chairman Andy Kettle.
