Hennelly set to start between the posts for Mayo
The Breaffy man left the squad in 2012 due to work commitments but was recalled before the Connacht final after regular keeper David Clarke and his deputy Kenneth O’Malley picked up injuries. Clarke, who led Mayo out in last year’s All-Ireland final, was told on Wednesday that his season could be over after medical reports confirmed the hamstring had detached from the bone. The early prognosis is that he will be out for somewhere between ten to 12 weeks. O’Malley sustained ankle ligament damage two weeks ago and is expected to be out until the end of August which should give Hennelly the nod over Ballintubber's Brendan Walsh following an assured Connacht final.
