Pat McEnaney admits the issue of water carriers not being allowed onto the pitch during a break in play is among a number of points inter-county hurling referees will be reviewing next week.

The national referees committee chairman did not comment on Pat Horgan’s red card as it’s believed to be the subject of an appeal by the Cork County Board. However, he revealed several incidents in recent games will be discussed at Tuesday’s meeting.

In Saturday’s All-Ireland qualifier between Clare and Wexford, referee Diarmuid Kirwan refused a designated Wexford backroom official handing a water bottle to defender Tomás Waters during a halt in play.
