Rathmore book last four clash with Crokes

Finuge 0-10 Rathmore 0-17

Finuge started well and jumped 0-5 to 0-2 clear by the end of the opening quarter, with Fergus Fitzmaurice scoring three points and one each from Pat Corridan and John Griffin.

However, once Rathmore got going they scored five unanswered points, from Michael O’Riordan (3), Michael A Kelliher and John Moynihan. A late Stephen Power point, saw the sides go in at 0-7 apiece at the interval.

Rathmore, even without Aidan O’Mahony, made their move in the opening five minutes of the second half, kicking four unanswered points from Kelliher, Pa Reen, Eoin Lawlor and Michael O’Riordan.

Although Finuge closed the gap to two, thanks to a brace of points from Pat Corridan, they simply lost their way and a hungrier and more determined Rathmore side, with Michael O’Riordan polishing things off, advanced to a semi-final meeting against Dr Crokes.

Legion will take on Milltown Castlemaine in the other semi-final.
