O’Sullivan set to make Cork’s final clash

Cork corner-back Conor O’Sullivan will be fit to play in Sunday’s Munster hurling final against Limerick, though midfielder Lorcan McLoughlin remains doubtful for the big game in Limerick.

O’Sullivan set to make Cork’s final clash

The Sarsfields club man was unable to train following the Rebels’ against-the-odds win over Clare in the provincial semi final due to a groin injury but was able to participate fully in recent sessions, allaying fears that he might have to join fellow defender Brian Murphy (broken collarbone) on the sideline.

McLoughlin missed the win over Clare due to a shoulder ligamentinjury suffered in training the week beforehand. It’s expected that Cork management will give the Kanturk man a fitness test at training this evening, but they’re also likely to give him every chance of getting himself right for Sunday, which means a final decision may not be made until later in the week. McLoughlin was Cork’s most impressive performer in the league, and if he is fit to play, along withcaptain Patrick Cronin, who is now fully recovered after a chest infection, Cork will face the Shannonsiders with confidence.
