Clare are anxious that Mick O’Dwyer’s selectors take charge of their footballers next year and continue the work done by the legendary Kerryman in his season with the Banner.

Clare County Board chairman, Michael McDonagh, said he hopes Ger Keane and Mike Neylon will stay on to manage the footballers next season after the departure of O’Dwyer.

McDonagh confirmed that O’Dwyer had made it clear from the outset that he was only taking the job for one season and he knew he would step down after Saturday’s 3-17 to 0-10 All-Ireland qualifier loss to Laois.
