Cadogan back as Cork make one change — for now
On paper at least, Conor Counihan has made one change from the team that thrashed Limerick last month with fit-again Eoin Cadogan coming in for Paudie Kissane.
But after a series of late changes to the starting line-up throughout the league and two personnel alterations the last day due to fitness tests, it’s likely there will be switches once more.
Like Cadogan, Aidan Walsh was named in the team to face Limerick but didn’t start. He is also back to fitness but remains on the bench, as do seasoned campaigners Noel O’Leary and Donncha O’Connor.
After impressing last day out, Antrim native James Loughrey starts again, one of five Championship debutants against Limerick.
Mayo make one change from the side that annihilated Galway for the visit of Roscommon to Castlebar — Richie Feeney replacing shoulder injury victim Cillian O’Connor at centre-forward.
Meath manager Mick O’Dowd gives first Championship starts to Eamonn Wallace and Mickey Newman while Caoimhin King is a surprise selection at centre-back.
- Speaking on RTE Six One News last night, Offaly footballer Niall McNamee admitted he had lost “the guts of €200,000” gambling.
