Donegal fans get ticket bonus for Ulster showdown

Donegal received an unexpected ticket boost with Tyrone returning 1,000 unsold tickets for Sunday’s Ulster SFC quarter-final.

Tyrone had claimed MacCumhaill Park, in Ballybofey, which will have a capacity of 17,520, wasn’t big enough for the demand.

“There would have been clubs which would have taken up the opportunity to bring bus-loads to that game,” said county chairman Ciaran McLaughlin earlier this month.

“That’s where we missed out because we could have marketed the game more widely.

The 1,000 tickets will be divided between Donegal’s 40 clubs.
