Bruised Corbett out for six weeks

Lar Corbett was playing his cards close to his chest in Croke Park yesterday on the straight red card he and Kilkenny’s JJ Delaney received in the Allianz Hurling League final in Nowlan Park on Sunday last. A bruised chest too, as it turned out.

“I have a fractured rib maybe two,” he revealed at the announcement of Liberty Insurance as the new join sponsor of the All-Ireland hurling and camogie championships. “They’re saying it’s a six week job.”

That’s bad news for Tipperary hurling supporters, bad news for Corbett as it almost certainly rules him out of the Munster championship clash with Limerick in Limerick on June 9.
