Moynihan commits to Cork minor footballers

The Cork minor football side will be able to call upon Aidan Moynihan for Wednesday week’s Electric Ireland Munster MFC semi-final clash with Tipperary in Thurles after he opted for the Rebels ahead of the Munster U19 rugby squad.

Moynihan, who won a Munster Schools Senior Cup with Rockwell College in 2012 and helped them reach this year’s final, was yesterday named as part of a training panel for this year’s interprovincial series, but player fitness testing during the week of May 13-17, clashing with Cork’s game on Wednesday 15.

The Canovee player, who scored an equalising goal from a penalty in Cork’s first-round clash with Kerry a fortnight ago and started last Friday’s replay win, has prioritised the football game.
