Dubs not rushing Brogan as championship looms

Alan Brogan’s fading hopes of seeing some game time in the league are all but over as the groin problem which curtailed his contribution to the 2012 championship continues to hold him back.

The former Dublin captain came off during last summer’s Leinster final against Meath, played no part in the All-Ireland quarter-final win over Laois and then came on and off again in the following defeat to Mayo.

His comeback has been continually pushed back after an operation on the complaint late last year: from a point where he was expected to miss only the early rounds of the league to one where he will now target the June 1 Leinster SFC quarter-final.
