14-man Déise surge clear
Waterford were down to 14 men after 30 minutes when midfielder Shane Aherne received a second yellow card. But the home county could only lead 0-5 to 0-4 at half time having played with the wind.
Déise centre forward Liam O’Lionáin provided major problems for Carlow as he was the creative force behind their late scoring surge.
