O’Mahony blow for Kingdom
Eamonn Fitzmaurice’s 31-man squad returned from Portugal this week after an intensive five-day get-together and turn their focus to Division 1 survival.
However they’ll have to produce the goods against Tyrone without their full-back, who had only just returned from an ankle problem for the camp at the Amendoeira Golf Resort. He suffered a broken nose in an inter-squad game and is out of the trip north. O’Mahony was sent off the last time Kerry were in Omagh in 2010, when an injury time goal from Colm Cavanagh stole the points for the hosts.
The only other casualty from Kerry’s Portugal preparations was hamstring victim Paul Geaney. David Moran trained after recovering from a shoulder problem, as did Eoin Brosnan, who was rested for the win over Cork.
