Waterford board ‘in control’ of spending

County secretary Timmy O’Keeffe presented a detailed breakdown of team expenses to club delegates at Wednesday night’s meeting at Lawlor’s Hotel in Dungarvan, where he revealed the total spend on senior inter-county sides amounted to €110,477 for the year to date. This was almost €70,000 under projections made at the start of the year.

“We are not over budget. We are keeping costs of the teams under reasonable control,” O’Keeffe said, adding the figures “dispel the rumours” circulating to the contrary.
