All-Ireland joy for St Mary’s

St Mary’s, Macroom won their first All-Ireland Post Primary Schools SBFC title with victory over St Joseph’s Mercy, Navan at Freshford (0-15 to 2-7).

The Cork side dominated early and led 0-10 to 0-5 at the interval with Aoife Plunkett, Mairéad Corkery and Claire Byrne on target.

Goals from Aoibheann Leahy and Lesley Buchanan gave the Meath girls hope but despite their best efforts they couldn’t draw level. Late points from Byrne sealed the victory.

Meanwhile Scoil Crìost Rì, Portlaoise claimed the C title after a hard fought, 2-9 to 2-5, victory over Virginia College Cavan in Kinnegad.
