Kerry include O’Sullivan but resist temptation to call Gooch
After surprisingly featuring as a substitute against Dublin last month, Declan O’Sullivan is named in the forward line while Anthony Maher makes his first appearance since the defeat away to Mayo.
Kieran Donaghy is selected at full-forward, with Michael Geaney and James O’Donoghue beginning the game on the bench.
In the other two of four changes from the team that lost to Donegal, Tomás Ó Sé, suspended for this game after his sending off in Ballybofey, and Peter Crowley are replaced by Brian Maguire and Fionn Fitzgerald.
Paul Galvin could make his first appearance for the county this year after being named among the substitution alongside David Moran, who is waiting to make his first appearance in a Kerry jersey since a second cruciate injury in 12 months last February.
With four straight defeats in four games, Kerry are rooted to the bottom of the table but their opponents in Austin Stack Park, along with Mayo, have just two points.
A defeat for Kerry would all but condemn the county to Division Two football next season given their poor score difference and the fact they’ve lost to both Mayo and Donegal, who are on four points.
