Lehane glad to escape Fraher Field’s icy grip
Manager Jimmy Barry-Murphy claimed the state of the pitch was practically unplayable, while the easterly gale and underfoot conditions spoiled the draw with Waterford as a spectacle. Lehane pointed out the low temperature also caused a problem with players constantly rubbing their hands to stay warm.
“In terms of a league match and of importance, it was definitely the toughest,” said the Midleton man, who scored two points coming on as a substitute. “We played very well considering the conditions and just how cold it was.
