The next school year is likely to see the finalisation of the amalgamation of colleges and vocational schools GAA competitions at post-primary level.

Schools streamlined

Since the GAA’s 2006 Congress, a streamlined administrative structure has been in place for post-primary games and this year colleges and vocational provincial championships below A level have fed into a singular All-Ireland championship.

“Yesterday, for example, Coláiste Dún Iascaigh from Cahir, who won the vocational B hurling, played Dungarvan CBS, who were the B colleges winner, in a play-off for the All-Ireland championship,” Tom Collum, the Munster Colleges servicing officer, said.
