Dubs end Laois run

Tom McKittrick’s Laois fell to their first defeat of the season as Dublin scored a narrow victory in Sunday’s Ladies NFL Division 1 tie in Stradbally.

Two late pointed frees from Sinead Aherne gave Dublin a 2-6 to 1-7 victory against the O’Moore County.

McKittrick, a former Dublin U21 player, had masterminded two victories from the first two rounds of fixtures but Dublin bounced back from the previous weekend’s shock defeat against Donegal to claim a second win of the season. At half-time, the sides were level at 0-6 to 1-3, with Lyndsey Davey bagging a 28th minute goal for the Dubs.
