Teddy takes reins at Newcastle West

Legendary Cork double winner Teddy McCarthy is going dual again this season as manager to both the hurlers and footballers of Newcastle West GAA club in Limerick.

McCarthy confirmed last night he is to manage the club’s senior footballers and intermediate hurlers in 2013. The Sars man took his first session this week, and is due to finalise backroom set-ups for both teams in the coming days.

McCarthy will hope to help the footballers after successive county final defeats to Monaleen and Dromcollogher-Broadford. Boosting their chances will be the 2012 County Premier U21 football winning side.
