Dublin boss Gavin makes tough calls to trim squad

From the culling fields of the O’Byrne Cup, Jim Gavin yesterday emerged with a slimmed-down Dublin panel.

On Sunday, he and his management broke the bad news to those players surplus to requirements for the Allianz National League campaign.

He wasn’t going to name names, only as far as saying they will be put on development programmes and sent back to their clubs.
