Kildare confirm new sponsor deal

Brady Family Ham were announced as Kildare GAA’s new sponsor at a launch in the Keadeen Hotel in Newbridge last night.

The agreement with the Timahoe-based company will run for three years with an option to renew at the end of that period.

Kildare manager Kieran McGeeney was also in attendance with members of his senior squad and feels that the partnership will prove to be mutually beneficial.

“They want to be hands on and don’t just want their name to be on the jersey, they want to be in the jersey. They want to be more than a sponsor. It’s not just about the present day senior team, they want to be involved in the growth of GAA in Kildare at all levels,” he said.

Kildare have been searching for a new sponsor since their agreement with Tegral, which lasted over two decades, came to an end last October.

“We’re thrilled and honoured to have the opportunity to be associated with Kildare GAA for the next three years. It’s a unique opportunity for our little company to get involved,” said Bill O’Brien, managing director of Brady Family Ham.

Brady Family Ham began producing hams in 1978. The Brady family who originally set up the company sold the business in 2000 and the O’Brien family who bought them out have maintained the company’s traditional ethos.
