Cavanagh: I nearly quit after shoulder injury

Sean Cavanagh has revealed he was so disheartened last year when he suffered a second shoulder injury that he thought about quitting.

“The surgeon down in Santry couldn’t believe it, he had only ever seen one (of these cases) before and he is a shoulder surgeon (specialist). I was just really unlucky,” said Cavanagh.

“I was disgusted after I did the second one and I said to my wife ‘I am not going back, I have packed it in.’
