Ryan vows to make league promotion a priority

Progression, that’s the aim for Limerick football this year says Ian Ryan, team captain and top scorer in last Sunday’s McGrath Cup quarter-final win over Clare.

Forget the Munster championship for the moment, and focus on what’s immediately ahead. It starts next Sunday with a McGrath Cup semi-final against Kerry and continues then into the league and their opening division four outing against Leitrim on Sunday February 3.

“In previous years we’ve always looked to the championship first and maybe taken our eyes off the league,” says Ian.
