DCU manager Niall Moyna believes the rule preventing Cork’s Aidan Walsh from lining out for the university is symptomatic of the negative attitude within third level GAA towards them.

Walsh’s Disputes Resolution Authority appeal against the eligibility will be heard early this week. RTÉ football pundit Joe Brolly, a Belfast-based barrister, has been advising DCU on the matter.

The Kanturk man, who linked up with Cork in their McGrath Cup quarter-final yesterday, has been deemed ineligible due to the rule which stops players who have enrolled in more than two college courses from representing a third level team. The same rule also impacts DCU’s Donegal goalkeeper Michael Boyle.
