Meehan magic helps Tribesmen ease to victory over NUI Galway

Michael Meehan looked back to his best for Galway as his four points helped the Tribesmen to a facile win 0-16 to 0-6 over NUI Galway at Tuam Stadium yesterday.

A late Colm Beirne free gave Leitrim reward for a late rally against Roscommon with a 0-6 to 0-5 win.

Meanwhile Niall Murphy and Mark Breheny each bagged five points as Sligo strolled to a comfortable nine-point win over IT Sligo, 0-14 to 0-5, at the IT Sligo GAA grounds in Ballinode in this low-key FBD Connacht League Section ‘A’ opener.
