Galway call to open stadia to RWC

A motion from Salthill/Knocknacarra in Galway calling on the GAA to make grounds around the country available so that a bid can be staged to host the rugby World Cup was unanimously passed at the county board convention on Monday night.

Club chairman David Burke said that there would be benefits across the board if the 2023 Rugby World Cup is staged here. He wants grounds such as Pearse Stadium in Salthill and other GAA grounds to be made available.
