Cooney set to manage Youghal hurlers

Former GAA President Christy Cooney is set to take over the management of his home club, Youghal, for the coming year.

The East Cork club hold their AGM on Sunday evening and Cooney, also a former Cork County Board chairman, is part of a hurling management team, along with physical trainer Peter Cody and Con Spillane, that is due to be ratified.

County senior champions Sarsfields could also be on the lookout for a new man in charge as work commitments could preclude incumbent Pat Ryan.
