Cavan County Board secretary Declan Woods has labelled the GAA’s transfer policies as overly complicated in the wake of the Seanie Johnston saga.

When the Cavan man moved to Kildare they queried the eligibility of the move, which led to months of wrangling between Croke Park officials and the Lilywhites board.

“I wish to set the record straight and say that Cavan County Board never objected to the transfer but asked a question about his eligibility,” he wrote.
