Boland to lead new era in Offaly

Padraig Boland is the new chairman of Offaly GAA.

Boland was elected last night in front of a packed county convention in the new clubhouse facilities of new Leinster club hurling champions Kilcormac/Killoughey.

The Ferbane club man fended off stiff competition from his namesake, but no relation, Martin Boland and came out the right side of a vote, by 67 votes to 49. The position became available as outgoing chairman Pat Teehan had his five-year spell reached.
