Shefflin awaits verdict after ankle injury

Henry Shefflin is awaiting scans after sustaining an ankle injury in Saturday’s Leinster Club SHC semi-final in Wexford Park.

The 2012 Hurler of the Year had to be substituted after damaging the joint in the first half of Ballyhale Shamrocks’ defeat by Oulart-the-Ballagh.

Shefflin’s brother and manager Tommy said after the game that it could be a broken bone. However, there are fears the 33-year-old may have torn ligaments.
