Footballer of the year Karl Lacey has claimed Donegal are not getting the respect they deserve as All-Ireland champions.

The four-time All Star was speaking in relation to the possibility of the reigning Ulster champions’ provincial quarter-final being moved away from Ballybofey to Clones. He said they would feel cheated if a decision was made to take away Donegal’s right to home advantage for the game due to MacCumhaill Park’s reduced capacity.

“We have been unlucky the last two years getting drawn in the preliminary rounds,” he said.
