Playing into the stiff breeze, the Limerick champions opened up a 0-3 to 0-1 lead after just ten minutes.

Cappamore pulled further ahead in the 14th minute when Murphy’s speculative shot ended up in the net. Borrisokane battled to get back into contention with captain Philip Austin on target from close-range frees but still trailed by four at the break, 1-4 to 0-3.
