Tipperary star Lar Corbett had described Páirc Uí Chaoimh’s visiting dressing room as “a chamber of horrors” and recalls their toilets flooding with urine when they lost to Cork there in 2010.

“The dressing rooms, no more than 12 feet wide and 18 feet long, are the worst I’ve changed in as a player, and I can’t think of any worse at club level either.

“Imagine 30 players and another 15 backroom boys trying to operate in a shoe box and you get the general picture. It’s a kip — dark, airless and smelly — and the heat is killing,” he writes before adding, “I go to take a leak and see that some of the boys have dropped clothes on the floor and the floor is wet — piss has overflowed the urinals and is seeping into tops and leggings.”
