Nolan lifts Avondale

Avondale have set up a semi-final with Wicklow SHC champions Glenealy following victory over Kiltegan (3-6 to 1-10) at Arklow.

Battling Kiltegan pushed the Dales all the way and when top scorer John Keogh scored two quick points, there was just one between the teams with minutes left on the clock, 2-11 to 3-9.

A late goal by substitute Eugene Heffernan copper-fastened Avondale’s victory but it was corner-forward Ray Nolan who was the star with 2-7 to his credit.
