The Cork County Board is to appoint an administrator, a new role which will encompass some of the duties currently carried out by board secretary Frank Murphy.

Murphy will retain the title of secretary, or runaí, and will play a key role in the redevelopment of Páirc Uí Chaoimh as well as having overall responsibility for financial, administrative and policy matters.

The administrator will have day-to-day responsibility for fixture planning, inter-county teams and full-time coaching as well as acting as minutes secretary for meetings. The role will be advertised in local and national media. The proposed commencement date is Feb 1.
