De La Salle squeeze past gutsy Lismore

Though shorn of key players, included the suspended Maurice Shanahan, Lismore battled bravely before Eddie Barrett’s injury-time point ended their championship dreams.

From the outset, Lismore threw caution to the wind and Dan Shanahan’s 18th-minute goal eased them into a five-point lead (1-6 to 0-4). But De La Salle bossed the rest of the half and a string of points including, two each from John Mullane and teenager Shane McNulty, helped them to a 0-12 to 1-7 advantage at the break.
