Sligo unsure if Walsh will continue for fifth term

Sligo chairman Cyril Feehily is in the dark about whether Kevin Walsh wishes to continue for a fifth term in the Yeats County hot seat.

It’s over four weeks since Sligo suffered a 0-13 to 0-4 defeat by Kildare in the final round of the All-Ireland qualifiers, but it could be well into September before the position regarding Walsh and his backroom team is clarified.

“We haven’t met with Kevin Walsh and his selectors yet, but at this time of the year a lot of people are on holidays and are a taking a break after being involved in team-management duties,” said Feehily on the Galway native and his backroom team of Paul Durcan, Dessie Sloyane and Paul Taylor.
