However Wexford County Board chairman Diarmuid Devereux last night vowed that any formal complaint “will be vigorously investigated” but added that, as things stand, the allegations remain entirely unsubstantiated.

Devereux said he was aware of rumours surrounding players betting against their own football and hurling teams in two group championship games which they subsequently lost.
