Lennon the driving force for Armagh

Armagh’s full-forward Matty Lennon turned in a five star performance for his county on Saturday as he led his team to a one-point win over Wicklow in the All-Ireland MBHC at Morgan Park, Armagh.

Wicklow had won the All-Ireland C competition last year and shaped up as if they might make a bid for the B title this year as they took a four-point lead 1-7 to 0-6 into half time.

And indeed Wicklow were still looking good at the three quarter stage after increasing their lead by a point to 1-10 to 0-8. But they paid the price for conceding to many frees which were converted by Armagh’s sharpshooter Lennon.
