Clubs let off hook after penalty misses

Joe Sheridan returned to club action with Seneschalstown and drove a spot-kick outside the right upright in the second half of the clash with Oldcastle at Kilmainham on Saturday evening. However, the 2009 champions recovered to record a 0-11 to 0-7 success.

The Sheridan brothers shared five points, with Joe putting over two and Brian hitting three, as a second win from as many outings was achieved. Former Meath manager Colm Coyle’s Oldcastle are well out of the hunt after three defeats.
